Meals On Wheels
For many years, the residents of Trenton, Ewing and Lawrenceville have been delivering hot, nutritious, ready-to-eat meals to the home-bound residents of these municipalities. Clients may be elderly, physically or emotionally unable to prepare meals and/or maintain proper nutrition, chronically ill, convalescing, or handicapped. Whatever the reason, a healthy and hot mid-day meal is available from the kitchens of Arc Mercer. These meals are prepared by the consumers in the Culinary Training Program and are delivered daily, Monday through Friday, by local volunteers. Special physician-ordered diets are also accommodated. Not only is this providing a much needed service to those unable to prepare their own meals, it provides an avenue for hands-on experiences in food preparation and service for the program participants.
