The Arc Mercer Choir to Sing at Spring Show

April 8th, 2018

By Jaclyn DiLouie. Music Manager

We are the world, We are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day

So, let’s start giving, There’s a choice we’re making

We’re saving our own lives, It’s true we’ll make a better day, Just you and me

Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie wrote the beautiful words to this famous song, which was released in 1985 and won several awards in the following year. You can still hear many famous music artists, such as Dionne Warwick, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and Olivia Newton-John to name a few, perform this song. Our new Arc Choir will be performing a rendition of it for you on Friday, April 13 at the St. Greg’s Parish Center between 6:30 and 8:30 pm to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day.

Our Arc Choir has been working very hard preparing their voices to sing for you and have learned and memorized seven songs to present at the show. The Progressive Center for Independent Living, Respect Life Ministries and The Community Connections Recreation Program have invited The Arc Mercer to join them for this compassionate cause. Please join us as we sing several pop favorites, such as Happy by Pharrell Williams and Celebration by the Kool and the Gang.

We sincerely hope you can come out and support the The Arc Mercer by listening and watching all of the presentations we have prepared. You will be able to witness our very own Kirk Ponton, Arc Mercer Drama Manager, directing our consumers in a drama skit, as well as performances by our previous Music Manager, Reed Thomas, his band and his students.

Please check out the attached flyer for details. Hope to see you there!
