New Summer Arts Workshops at University Heights

By Megan DiFranco, Visual Arts Program Coordinator

July 2017 began The Arc Mercer’s Visual Arts Program’s new summer arts workshops at University Heights Elementary School in Hamilton Township. We are very excited to be extending our arts activities to a new group of young artists with special needs, and giving them the opportunity to have a summer full of creative fun.

The art program is part of a larger organized effort to promote arts programming to individuals with special needs under the title “The Mercer County Institute for the Arts.” The full summer roster is a collaborative effort between The Arc Mercer’s Visual Arts, Music and Drama Programs. University Height’s summer arts workshops will span over five weeks in the summer, and will culminate in a theatrical and musical performance, and exhibition of artwork. Students who participate in the summer arts workshops will enjoy a truly well-rounded creative experience.

This program is free and funded by a grant from Mercer County. We hope to continue to be able to offer these vital arts programs to individuals of all ages with special needs. To learn more about our arts programming and other services, please visit arcmercer.org.
