The Arc Mercer Forms Choir Just in Time for the Holidays

December 21st, 2017

Hello Arc Mercer Supporters!

Tis the season … and The Arc Mercer, under its new music teacher, is in the midst of forming a new choir to let the carols ring.

A soprano and pianist, Jaclyn Delouie started with The Arc Mercer in October. “Directing choirs is one of my joys,” Jaclyn said. She is eager to be working with consumers at The Arc Mercer. Not long after she began with The Arc Mercer, she saw she had a group of singers that could form the core of a choir. She said, “We have extremely talented musicians here and I am proud to work with them.”
The burgeoning choir developed a holiday set list that includes “Happy Holidays” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Members of the choir were eager to be part of The Arc Mercer’s Got Talent show held on December 15.

Every Monday night, the music group meets at the Trenton Social and currently does Karaoke. The group also meets at Halo Pub in Hamilton Square for a monthly Coffee House. Consumers will meet at our scheduled location and sign up to sing. Those who aren’t singing are listening, enjoying and some are even dancing along to the music. As she is new to The Arc Mercer, she is still getting to know the consumers and is still discovering their talents.

A musician with a background teaching music in schools and private lessons in and around Mercer and Burlington counties, Jaclyn also runs a church music program in Burlington County. “I get to work with talented people and hone their skills and teach them new ones. I believe in a well-rounded music education, but will meet each musician where they are and try to help them grow.”

She is reaching out to the community to recruit singers to join with The Arc Mercer pool of talent. Jaclyn said, “We would love to have you add your voice, whether that be soprano, alto, tenor or bass.

If you are interested in accompanying with an instrument, that is also welcome.” Anyone interested in participating can send Jaclyn an email at
