At Arc Mercer, we believe that diversity is our strength. It enriches our workplace, fuels our creativity, and helps us better understand and serve the diverse needs of the individuals we support. That's why we're proud of our Team Atmosphere Committee (TAC) and its vibrant cultural groups.
What is the TAC and Our Cultural Groups?
The Team Atmosphere Committee (TAC) itself is a collection of employee-led cultural groups. These groups fulfill several key roles. They provide a safe space for employees with a shared culture to meet and talk about issues relevant to their community. The TAC also creates a venue for issues to be brought to the attention of the Agency Leadership and establishes a forum where the rest of the agency can learn about other cultures. In addition, the TAC develops projects that focus on those within the cultural community with special needs or employees within the cultural groups that serve those with special needs.

Have fun! Our cultural groups host social events, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives, both for staff and our consumers.
What cultural groups do we have?
Here are just a few of the groups currently active at Arc Mercer:
S.N.A.P. (Special Needs Alliance for Pride): Advocates for and supports LGBTQ+ individuals with special needs, recently hosting a successful Pride Month celebration. SNAP is also developing programs to integrate LGBTQ+ consumers into the wider LGBTQ+ community.
Liberia Group: Playing a crucial role in Project 601, developing the first international Arc chapter in Monrovia, Liberia. Promoting cultural exchange and support for Liberian communities.
Black Culture Advisory Group (BCAG): Celebrates Black culture, history, and achievements while fostering understanding and allyship. The BCAG is planning events and projects to engage consumers with their heritage and the wider Black community.
Hispanic Group: Creates a welcoming space for Hispanic employees to share their heritage and connect with others. This group is also developing culturally sensitive programs for our Hispanic consumers.
